Volker joined FML as Non-Executive Chairman late 2017.  Alongside this, Volker is currently Non-Executive Director of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and of Elexon. He sits on the Advisory Board of the EU Centre for Energy and Resource Security (EUCERS) at King’s College, and is Chair of the Advisory Board at Erasmus Centre for Future Energy Business (ECFEB), a specialist research centre at Rotterdam School of Management.

Volker was Group CEO at RWE npower plc until the end of 2012 and prior to this, its Group CFO from 2003 to 2009. He has worked in a variety of trade and industry bodies, including the CBI President’s Committee, the Board of the German-British Chamber of Industry & Commerce, and since 1999 as Deputy Chair of the Executive Commercial Management Committee at the German Association of Energy and Water Industries. He was also member of the Executive Committee of UKBCSE (now Energy UK). Since 2009 he has chaired the Business Energy Forum.

Tom Thorp

CEO

Tom is a chartered accountant and graduate of Edinburgh University. Tom spent several years with KPMG within Transaction Services in London and Munich advising on a wide range of industries and performing financial and vendor due diligence prior to joining Foresight.

Alongside his role as Foresight Metering’s CEO, Tom is a Director at Foresight Group. He has worked across Foresight’s environmental infrastructure investments, and more recently the group’s Private Equity investments. Tom has been responsible for Foresight’s smart meter financing programme since 2014.

Richard Rose

Richard Rose

CFO

Richard joined Foresight Metering in 2018 and has worked in the international water and energy markets for the last two decades. He has extensive experience in financial control and performance management, coupled with corporate finance expertise and associated capital market activity.

Richard spent nine years at Thames Water plc and American Water Corp. in corporate finance, project finance and treasury oriented roles, followed by eight years at npower plc in both operational and group finance controllership roles, up to executive committee level. More recently, Richard worked for the Extra Group as the Group CFO with responsibilities for energy and non-energy assets in Germany, Cyprus, UK and Israel.

Tom has been with the company since January 2012 and had experience in all areas of the operation. His current role focuses on working with energy suppliers, installers and manufacturers to initiate smart meter rollout programs.

Daniel Reilly

Business Development Director

Daniel is responsible for developing new propositions and products, which build on the strong relationships that Foresight Metering has developed over the last 10 years. Daniel has previously held numerous sales and marketing leadership roles within the UK energy sector and is well placed to support our customers in maximising the opportunity presented by the smart meter programme and in leveraging emerging technologies in support of their acquisition and retention objectives.

Daniel has experience in leading business transformation and optimisation programmes to achieve growth targets; he has recruited, trained and led large sales and marketing teams. Whilst at Regus, E.ON and other emerging energy suppliers, Daniel helped to build and develop customer acquisition and retention strategies.

Tracey Welch

Operations Director

Tracey joined in January 2011 to take up the role of Operations Director and has led the company’s investment in internal systems and their integration with industry systems and continually strives to increase operational efficiency and rigor.

Tracey has over 20 years of experience in portfolio management having direct experience in most back office functions including systems, data conversions, implementation, training and reconciliation.

Tracey qualified as an accountant with Close Brothers and has spent time at Assetco, where she managed NHS, Local Authority operating lease portfolios and for NetsolCQ a system’s house. In 2007 Tracey joined Hanover Financial Group, where she managed a number of bank leasing portfolios.

Patrick Goodman

Patrick joined Foresight Metering in March 2018 to help support the Business Development Team.

Since then Patrick has progressed to Business Development Manager and established strong relationships with suppliers across the market. Patrick is responsible for assisting energy suppliers meet their smart objectives, ranging from the Big 6 to emergent challengers.

In 2016, Patrick graduated from Cardiff University with a 2:1 in History. After graduating Patrick spent time travelling and, before joining Foresight Metering, worked in a customer services role for a national pensions company.

Ashley Harris

Ashley has worked within the energy industry for coming close to a decade. Ashley has a wide range of experience having worked in Business Development, Management, Operations and Project Management structures.

Ashley worked for E.ON in their Corporate Division managing relationships with key accounts. This involved a personal responsibility for account spends of over £528 Million a year spread over 1,200 customers.

Ashley has been heavily involved in the SMART rollout. Having joined National Grid in the summer of 2018, Ashley has been involved in supporting suppliers with both their SMETS 1 and SMETS 2 mobilisation plans and agreeing commercial contracts on behalf of National Grid.

 

Ashley also has experience of working for financial institutions such as Lloyds TSB and Barclays as well as a short stint in recruitment.

Carmen Strictland

Carmen joined Foresight Metering in June 2018, after spending 4 years with the DCC (Data Communications Company), where she was a SEC panel representative.

Carmen has over 20 years experience in the GB utilities industry. This has provided a depth of knowledge of the current and future regulatory and technical landscape with the gas & electricity industry. Carmen’s previous experiences have also provided a comprehensive understanding of the SMETS2 solution.

Carmen was part of the transformation of the energy industry in 1998 and possesses detailed knowledge of many areas, including: registration, settlements, meter operations, the gas project Nexus and DuOS billing.

Carmen has an MBA from Warwick and a degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics from Queens University of Belfast.
